Jolly Phonics Learn the Sounds
Here is a helpful link for you to learn the Jolly Phonics sounds and practice them at home.
Neil Armstrong Room 12
We had a huge shock when we came back from lunch today. There was a strange box on the floors with yellow stars on it. We were very nervous and excited to open the box. We found a medal of honour, a letter, a map of the moon, a postcard, a badge and a photograph. It took us awhile to figure out who owned this stuff but we did figure it out!! It belongs to Neil Armstrong, the first astronaut to set foot on the moon.
#antearrach Signs of Spring Project
Room 12 took part in the Seomra Ranga Signs of Spring Project. The aim was to go on the hunt to find signs of spring and tweet pictures using the hashtag: #antearrach or “Spring” as Gaeilge. The children had a brilliant time looking for signs around the school. We made a video about our week and making the project. Our tweets were even used in the final transcript of the project on the national website; Seomra Ranga. You can look at the transcript here. Check out the video here too!
Bricfeasta Mór
The children celebrated Seachtain na Gaeilge (Irish Week) in style last week by having a Bricfeasta Mór. The children ate toast and yogurt. We asked them questions as Gaeilge during Bricfeasta.
“An maith leat tósta?”
“Is maith liom tósta!”
Pancake Tuesday
The children enjoyed pancakes in Room 12 last week. This marks the start of Lent. What have you given up for Lent?
