Last week we started Wassa Wassa. We will be doing Wassa Wassa for the next few weeks. We love learning all about African music and playing the drums.

We had great fun last week when a snake skin was brought into school. We all got a chance to hold it and feel it.
The new tablets
We got new tablets in Scoil Mhuire. We used them this week for the first time. Using them we practiced our colouring, counting, writing and sorting!
Handa’s Surprise Stop Motion Video
We made a stop motion video in Room 12. Stop motion means that the object or person in the video makes very small movements and individual photos are taken of each movement. This is the technique used to make animations such as Wallace and Gromit. We decided to make a video based on the book Handa’s Surprise. Handa puts seven delicious fruits into a basket as a surprise for her friend Akeyo. But thanks to seven hungry animals, it’s Handa who gets the surprise! Watch the video here to find out the surprise! We took almost 300 photos in order to put this video together. The children worked very hard to make this video! Well done to all.
