Seachtain na Gaeilge i Rang a Do !

We have given Seachtain na Gaeilge a great start today !

This ‘Irish week’ happens in lots of places all around Ireland from the start of March up to St Patrick’s Day. It’s all the ‘Sport ‘s spraoi’  (fun and games) that are associated with our language and our Irish culture . We get to practise and enjoy lots of our fun culture and improve our Irish too.

Over the fortnight we will be doing Radio na Scoile, Bricfeasta Mor, lots of easy Irish books to read in class, a Ceili Mor (Fri 14th), Irish games in class, songs, and having visitors come to our school to show us traditional music and their instruments !

Bigi Linn (be with us ) on our web page over the two weeks to see us agus an craic!

This week’s theme: ‘My Home’

Alan in Room 9 coloured this lovely picture!

Alan in Room 9 coloured this lovely picture!

This week we will be learning about homes and everyday items around the home. To help your child with this theme, have a go at the following:

  • Name the different rooms in the home.
  • Talk about what is in each room and name the various items.
  • Find a certain object in a room. eg. In the bathroom, ask your child to find the thing used to brush his/her teeth.
  • Help your child to say his/her address. “I live in/at…..”
