The Golden Chair
We got a big suprise this Monday when we came into class, we found a golden chair and a note from Tonks, our classroom fairy.
She painted one of our regular classroom chairs gold with her teeny tiny paintbrush (it took her a really long time!) If you look closely the chair also sparkles… that’s because she used some magic fairy dust to make it extra comfortable.
If there is a boy or a girl who is being very good at keeping their hands and feet to themselves they get to sit in the extra comfy chair for a WHOLE day!
Two lambs came to visit!
Farmer Vincent brought two lambs to visit us today. One ram and one ewe. They were only 6 days old 🙂
Scientist at work
Experiment:
We wanted to know how blubber keeps Arctic animals warm. We got a glove and poured some oil (blubber) into it. We then put our hand in it and placed it into a bowl of ICE COLD water, our other hand went in just as it is.
We discovered that the hand in the glove with the blubber stayed warm, while our other hand was getting colder and colder.
See how well we work together 🙂
Little red riding hood project
We made a project about Little Red Riding Hood. We decided to be authors and illustrators. We rewrote the story in our own words and drew pictures to match. Didn’t we do a great job 🙂
We made dioramas about the story using shoe boxes and coloured card.
We then pretend to be the wolf and wrote a letter of apology to Little Red Riding Hood and her Grandma.
Seachtain na Gaeilge
We had so much fun for the two weeks of Seachtaine na Gaeilge. We were on the school radio and sang an Irish song, we had visitors to the school and listened and danced while they played Irish jigs on the fiddle. It was lots of fun.
