Mathletics is going great with many children / families since Mrs Hill introduced it to 2nd classes at Friday Maths Games. They also play against children in other countries! Help them get set up and see for yourself.

Happy 2014 to all the families in Room 2

WISHING YOU ALL A VERY HAPPY NEW YEAR FOR 2014 and hoping you and the children all had a lovely Christmas.

Happy-new-year-2014-comics

I will be sending out Parent-Teacher notices in the coming days to arrange meetings with the parents I didn’t meet with in December. As usual let me know if you can’t come at that time and I’ll arrange another meeting time.

First Penance is our next Sacrament coming up in term 2. As the children start to bring home their prayers for homework could you hear them and also discuss the topics  in question, letting them see how it’s important in your life, family life.

Christmas 2013

The children all made a Christmas card for another child in their class today and so they are sending Christmas wishes to each other. This saves the buying of cards and the ‘difficulty’ of handing them out in a school day.

Christmas 2013

CHRISTMAS 2013

We have been very busy this last week in room 2 . The children have three Christmas Irish songs, they were learning symmetry ( in Christmas shapes ), making Christmas art for the room & they brought home their decoration. Of course they were hearing the Nativity story too in serious and not so serious books! They all wrote different stories ‘Santa’s problem’ , and what a selection we had ! We also started Jingle Bells on our tin whistle – it still needs a little more work!

The parents I didn’t get to meet should have got a text on Monday explaining that I will arrange new parent-teacher meeting dates with them in January. I look forward to seeing you then. Apologies again for the inconveniences .  Wishing you all a Happy Christmas.
